Hi, until reading about them on here I had never heard of a sarcoid (I’m only now realising how easy my old girls have been!) and after doing a bit of googling it dawned on me my new girl may have one? She arrived like this but didn’t think too much of it until now. So just wondered if you think this is one, knowledgeable people and if you have any info or experience with them. I’m planning on getting the vet out to my old girls for a pre winter check up in a few weeks when I’ve got time off work so will get them to have a look at this too but would love your thoughts.
incase it’s no clear it’s on the bottom of her ear.

I tried to zoom in closer but it won't let me. It could be a sarcoid, looks long and thin though, equally they can look like that depending on the type.

Def good idea asking the vet to treat it. Keep eye on it in case it changes, and take pictures of it so you have a regular record to check back on and show vet.

At the base of the ear with that shape, I'd say that's as likely to be a scar from rubbing, but it needs checking. I hope it's a scar.

Thinking about it , it is a pretty common site for sarcoids and it could also be a scar from one being removed in the past.

Thank you for the replies! I didn’t think much of it to start with and thought it was likely just a scar or something but after reading the forum I realised how little I knew could go wrong with horses! (I know you never stop learning and knew I will never know everything but this place has been a massive eye opener) so thankful I joined and can hear everyone’s advice and experiences and hoping I can be more aware and switched onto things with my new girl that I may have missed with my other 2, thanks to you all. But also getting a new one has made me a worrier and much more stressed! I fear you may hear a lot of me ? thanks everyone for putting my mind at ease a bit until I get the vet out ?

Take close-ups regularly, don't mess with it or put stuff on it - except fly-protection headwear unless it might rub whatever *that* is. Get the vet if it changes at all for the worse or mention it the next time you get the vet out if it doesn't.

If she is a youngster, they often go away without any interference. Don't meddle with it.
