Hey My horse has sarcoids. (I dont know how to put pics up here)
Anyway they were the wart type ones there were three together making a triangle, not very big at the top of his back hind leg. Out of the way. Last night I noticed it has burst from the skin and was about an inch of proud flesh. Anyway I though id get the vet to cut it off. But last night he has removed most of it! What would people suggest? I was thinking Aldara cream. Have people used this? Where did thye get it from and did it work? Or do u have any other suggestions. its red and smooth, it doesnt irritate him for me to touch it etc. Any advise would be great. BTW Im ringing the vet for their advise.

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering what treatment people have used and what the results are so I can evaluate the options the vet gives me when I phone them at lunch.
Thanks

Hey spoke to the vet and I would like peoples advise on sarc-off, its a blood root derivative. What are peoples experiences good or bad, also did people keep their horses in work and if so what level of work?

I would go down the sarc 0ff route first, I know two people who have used it with sucess for sarcoids, it has also sorted out a collagen granuloma on my horses back and am now using it on a persistently growing sarcoid that i have twice had banded on the end of my horses sheath. with the granuloma on his back i didnt not exercise for obvious reasons but the one on the sheath has swelled up somewhat but does not bother him so all as normal I think it depends on the location and how much the area swells up. Also make sure you buy it online as its a lot cheaper than buying from the vet, well my vet anyway !
