I'm still deliberating about whether or not to buy a smashing little ISH pony mare that we have had to bring on over the summer and is an absolute cracker. It would be a no brainer tbh, but she has sarcoids. One of the options if I did buy her would be to breed from her. I've discussed this with my vet who seems to think that although there may be a genetic predisposition to developing sarcoids, this shouldn't stop me breeding from her as she is such a nice stamp of pony.
A question for you though - would sarcoids be a black mark against her at a grading show? I would want to take her to be graded into SPSS in October, but not if the sarcoids were detrimental. What do you all think?
