Has anyone had any success with these? I think my horse has a sarcoid (has had them before) and would like to try something like this on it. Had one frozen off before which was successful, but would like to try something less invasive.

Thanks!

My horses sarcoid fell off after putting crest toothpaste on it for a week. God knows if it would have fallen off anyway but I am a firm believer in old wives tales so I like to think the toothpaste did it.

The sarcoid that came off was a big, horrid fibroblastic one but I did try it on his nodular ones and it hasn't worked.

You could also try thuja cream/tablets, echinacea and or bloodroot ointment.

I think with sarcoids, anythings worth a try before you go down the serious and expensive routes - liverpool cream, freezing, chemo blah blah blah.

Yes, thats what I was thinking. I am actually not sure what it is (makes me sound good doesn't it!) But it is either a big scab that has got muddy and massive, or a knobbly sarcoid. But, I am not about to pick it off, so am treating it as if it is a sarcoid, and I figure that way I can't go too far wrong.

Is the brand of toothpaste important?!

I will try the cheapest option first! Will look up the others too - thanks!

My mare had one which shrank after I used aloe vera cream on it. I also swear by Tea Tree oil on just about anything! Am currently using a spray of it on mud fever, seems to be working.

Thuja cream at 30c potency worked for my ned but I have no way of knowing whether what he had was a sarcoid or not. Many nasty looking yukky things aren't and would have resolved on their own anyway. The important thing about Thuja cream is even if it doesn't work, it does no harm.

Anyone who thinks their ned may have a sarcoid, I would urge to do TWO things:

- 1st to visit Prof Knottenbelt's website on sarcoids, treatments and prognosis before they do anything else, and

- 2nd to ASK YOURSELF this question: if I had a nasty, crusty, sinister looking patch on my arm/leg/belly/boob would I smear it with Crest toothpaste (insert any other dodgy and improbable substance in here) in the hope it might cure it?

True sarcoids are skin cancer.

i used thuja cream on my horse that had a sarcoid

it fell off within 1 month of using the cream and the root too had come out
it healed over within 2 days and seems to have gone

worth a try
