Hi there,
I have heard of using Blood Root paste to treat sarcoids.
I have looked on internet and found a few places overseas (USA) that sell it however does anyone know where ?I can buy on the UK?

Thanks

yes, i've posted before about it, it's called Newmarket Blood Root Ointment, worked brilliantly on my mare, her (inherited) small sarcoids disappeared completely after i used it on them about 2 years ago, no more have come up. if you can't find full deets on a search, pm me and i'll go and check the addy on the pot. i got mine from my vets in Huntingdon.

Yes, I've used it sucessfully too, a few years ago now - got it from my vet. I think many vets prefer to go to the Liverpool cream because they feel more secure using something that has a good track record over time and backup from the vet at liverpool, but the blood root ointment (market as Newmarket cream) was cheaper and worked for us.

It comes from my vets.... I think he is one of the partners of the Newmarket Company.

You could give them a ring 01787 269006 (Catley Cross Equine unit) and ask them whether they can supply it without a visit. It costs £45 for a teensy pot but I treated 2 sarcoids with it and they fell off in 4 days. They havent come back either. Ive still got half a post left. Fab stuff !

I had it from my vet to treat a sarcoid on my horses inside hind. It was pretty horrible when using it, created a huge scab which eventually fell off and sarcoid not returned so think it worked! He does have scar tissue there though where scab was.

I've used it too, my vet wont use Liverpool cream but is happy using this and dispenses it by half pots to make it more affordable

Fab stuff, worked on my boys, didnt make him too sore, and worked on another horse on the yard who has horrendous sarcoids. Highly recommend it.

compared to the cost of the Liverpool treatment, i think this is very cheap!
i paid about £45 for my pot, about 6 years ago, fwiw. i'd use it again without hesitation.

I have used 'Sarc-off' cream, purchased from my vet for just over £100 for a small pot, with great success. My vet has had similar successes with her own horses and other clients.

I have used it on the type that looks like a lump under the skin (in an awkward location next to the eye), and also a small warty looking one (sorry can't remember the technical classification).
