My horse has been diagnosed with just one sarciod fortunatly, and the vet reccommneded liverpool cream. I can see its had good some reviews so I'll give it a go, just wondered what type of cost Im looking at.

I'm not sure how much the cream is but the vet has to apply it, they're coming to me next week 5X so i've claimed for it on insurance, had a feeling the cream was £120ish but will stand to be corrected on that.

Price of cream depends on the strength I think which is different for different sarcoids. Mine was about £80 I think, but I had to pay a further fortune as only the vets are allowed to apply it.

With tax I think it all came to about £500.

George has just been treated with the Liverpool cream for his small sarcoid and I claimed on the insurance, because it is all the vets visits that make it expensive. In the end George had to have the cream applied 5 x over 2 weeks and then the vet has to come back when the sarcoid drops off or in 6 weeks whichever is first.

you can claim for a year for sarcoids, but you need to claim because if you dont they'll ask if horse has had any problems this year at renewal and you're obligated to disclose any problems to them so they'll exclude them anyway. witholding info from them is fraud.

my horse was treated with liverpool cream in april. the sarcoid dropped off a few weeks ago and just left a little raw spot which is healing nicely. it only cost me £45 but i got a professional discount and applied it myself. it took 5 applications and it's normally the vet visits that make the cost mount up.

I can't remember for the life of me how much it cost but like some of the other posters have mentioned on here, the cost escalates due to the amount of call outs you need with its application. I also remember there being a long delay for the cream as well, at the time my boy was last treated.

My gelding was treated last christmas with Liverpool cream on 5 fairly innocuous occult sarcoids. After treatment the scabs refused to come off and we are now left with 5 rather ugly looking verucose sarcoids which are about to undergo a second bout of treatment using the liverpool cream before his insurance claim expires. In all honesty both my vet and i have been disappointed with the results as they seem to have aggravated the situation rather than improved it, but whilst we still have time on our insurance claim we are going to give the cream another go, failing that we will go down the Newmarket bloodroot ointment as that is cheaper as you can apply this yourself. I also feed my boy Global Herbs 'Sarc Ex' and Restore which seems to be benefitting him a little.

Please do not let my experience deter you as ive also heard many good reports on it, just a shame it seemed to act as a bit of a catalyst rather than a cure for my poor boy!

N.B, Ive heard today that Derek is now away until the end of July so i will have to wait a little longer for my batch of Liverpool cream.

Great stuff, did the trick on 2 very small sarcoids on my horse. They were gone in 2 weeks. Claimed on the insurance coz it was rather costly!

My ned had just one tiny sarcoid on the side of his face. He needed 4 applications and I'm pretty sure it came to no ore than £100 intotal, that's call out + Liverpool cream.

Thanks for that. I have been given the option of having the sarcoid lanced off, so weighing up the options at the moment. Has anyone experienced this form of treatment before?

Be careful with any surgical intervention for sarcoids vicksey as it is almost inevitable that a few cells will be left behind and it can re-grow with renewed vigour. Ask your vets for information and stats on this before you agree to the procedure.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to reply. I didnt ned much convincing really, Im going to get the Liverpool cream and hope it get rids of the sarcoid once and for all! Thanks so much for the advice!!!!

BLOODROOT CREAM!!! Its brilliant. Ive been using it for several years on various horses and types of sarcoids, its never failed to get rid of a sarcoid, and has even shifted some that the liverpool cream has failed to work on. Whats more its way cheaper (about £70) and you can apply it yourselves!
