Having vet out tomorrow to diagnose what I am 99% sure is a small flat sarcoid. Looks like a small wart with scaley flat skin round. Right on girth area underneath on midline. Very small currently but because of position need to get effective treatment ASAP.

Just really wanted peoples experiences in using Liverpool Cream for them verus other available treatments like Global herbs sarc-Ex or similar.

Either way its got to be treated as its in such an annoying place.

Any thoughts or experiences welcome!

Thanks!

I used global herbs sarc ex and the cream, tied the sarcoid off with plaiting thread to kill the blood supply and within 5-7 days it had fallen off and begun to heal over, my mare had 3 size of 10ps and now they are gone! My friend used same method on her mares ones the size of a grapefruit!!! One of my mares was similar place to yours but just behind the girth so could still ride during the process. Liverpool cream is harsh and isn't always the answer x

Thank you. I have heard good things about Global herbs. Will discuss all options with vet before attempting the liverpool route.

Can I ask my horse is quite a fussy feeder - is the sarc-ex a powder and does it have a strong smell?

Thanks!

Yes, powder, all of them are quite strong but you can just give him maintainence dose of one scoop which isn't a lot or spilt it between two-few feeds. Really would recommend it so maybe worth a try, my feed store you can get free samples to see if they will eat it before you pay x

I have used the Liverpool cream on 5 areas with sarcoids of different "varieties" on one of my horses. Sarcoids are gone, but the treatment sites are scarred and i would say it is a harsh treatment - better than what sarcoids can turn into, however.

Hi,
I'm currently using sarc ex powder and cream. I mix it with calm and condition and my very fussy pony eats it no problem. I've had great results so far as I don't want to use Liverpool cream (sarcoid is on his eye lid) will use it if I have to or have it removed but thought i'd try this first :-) good luck with your horsey x
