Could anyone share their experiences please, in particular how long they took to go after starting treatment. Photo's were sent to Liverpool by my vet last week and hoping to hear back before the weekend. My horse has 4, 2 of which are on the girth and they are very small. Was wanting to restart him this Summer as needs to 6 weeks walking on the roads as he's had a minor suspensory injury in training 2 and a half years ago and will struggle to do this in Winter on a day to day basis. I have been walking him out in hand though, saves me going to the gym!

Sorry can't help with your question re. how long it takes to treat sarcoids.

But my vet came and took some pictures of my boy's "bits" which is where the sarcoid is and has sent them up to Liverpool Vet College.

I gather it takes a while for results/treatment plan to come back - so think you may have to wait awhile for yours to start treatment.

Hope all goes well tho@ - I'm in the same position as you, and slightly apprehensive also.

It took about 3 weeks for the treatment to arrive at my vets last year for the same. They are busy and do get round to you, just never as quickly as us impatient owners would like sometimes :)

My boy has just had his 2nd liverpool treatment for different sarcoids. First one was few years ago in girth area and seem to remember it took a good couple of months to heal up properly. His 2nd one on inside back leg he started treatment on 30th april and its still properly scabbed over now. vet said that was fine as the toxins would be in the scab too and just to leave it alone. also was 3 weeks from them first looking at this one and taking pic to the day to the start of treatment. hope that helps.

Yes i had mine treated last year with liverpool cream only had four but took about 3 months for one to clear up and the larger one about the size of a 50p took about 6 months and two lots of cream - i think it depends on what type they are too - i've known some people put lamb rings on the ball shaped ones and then used thuja cream and tablets and they've cleared up - it was about 3 weeks before my liverpool cream came back for my boy too although seems like forever when your waiting !

our liverpool cream took a couple of weeks to come and then had about 6 applications from our vet over about 3 weeks. The sarcoid dropped off and all looked good but unfortunately within a month was growing back!
We repeated the whole process with the leftover cream and after about 2 months it came away again and this time has healed beautifully with almost no scar. I am very pleased with the outcome, but it has taken a long time.
Good luck with yours, they are very frustrating.
