I have posted in vets but would like as much feedback as possible my boy developed sarcoids on last yard all of a sudden one developed quite bad and quick got quite huge and raw .I stressed and worried and waited a while for diagnosis from liverpool university and cream and waited for flies to die off a bit hes due for the vet visits next week over 4/5 days .Now in the last week and a half i noticed the larger one changing shape, reducing and growing fur , i recently changed to a farm type livery yard now should i wait for treatment ? Ive paid for cream in advance ,has this happened to anyof you ? I will speak to vet tommorrow , of course just curious of your experiances thank-you

Yes we've had quite a few smaller ones go away - once a vet reccommended we make a pste out of lemon balm and tea tree oil, and put it on daily. It worked a treat. We've only ever had one properly removed with the cream, and had two horses with small sarcoids (not very bad ones though)... Both horses were about 4 when they came up, and about 6 when they went away. One still throws up little soft warts from time to time, but they don't do anything. (Fingers crossed!)

I discovered my horse had sarcoids a short while after I bought him (missed on the vetting as buried in winter coat!). Vet came and sent samples of to Liverpool, I was waiting for the cream to arrive when, like you, I noticed that they were disappearing. Within about a month they were gone (cancelled the order for cream!), and, touch wood, nearly three years later they haven't returned. My vet thought that they can sometimes get them when stressed (he'd been moved about a bit before I bought him). Hope yours have gone too!

i have a horse with quite a few sarcoids around the groin, mostly the hard lumpy warty types but one wa much bigger and smooth - more like a giant blister. This one would get rubbed when the hore was working and bleed quite a lot. it grew and grew and had loads of warty sarcoids around its base.Vet suggested sending the orse to a specialist in oxford (i think) to have it quarterised and then treated with liquid hydrogen (effective but pricey!) as it was such a problem. photos were taken, e-mails sent to vets and specialist etc. Vet came out to have another look for referal, got the horse out the field - it had burst! Within a couple of days it had completely healed up and you wouldnt have known anything had been there! I swear some of the other warty ones have reduced in size or dissapeared too. It makes you wonder if there is one 'mother' sarcoid that sends out the 'babies' and if the 'mother' dies so do the babies??! Based on absolutly no proof or scientific research but an interesting theory!!
