Am just interested in hearing everyone's experience with thuja cream. My gelding has a sarcoid on the inside top of his fore leg which is quite small and flat. After reading different posts on this site I decided to try thuja cream.

I have been applying it every day for the last 10 days now and so far there doesn't seem to be any change. I no I am probably just being impatient! Does it take a few weeks/months for the cream to work or does it take effect almost straight away. I was just wondering whether i was worth continuing to apply or try another cream, perhaps camrosa?

Would really appreciate any advice.

A timely post for me! I have been feeding Thuja tablets (5 days on, 7 days off) for 2 months now. Initially my mares sarcoids seemed to be less angry, but since the warm weather has come they are worse than ever, bleeding and very sore.

I was going to order some Thuja cream today as the next step.....I would appreciate some advice too!

At first my mare's tiny, flat sarcoid seemed to shrink and I was really pleased but there have been no changes since and it's gone back to normal.

I think, especially if you are insured, then you are best just getting the vet involved and getting them treated more so if they are getting bigger etc.

I was going to try this on my mare as she has one on her cheek bone but I mentioned it to the vet last thurs when he came out for another reason and he gave me some cream (no idea what it is as it just says "sarcoid cream" on the bottle) but i have been applying it once or twice a day since last thurs and its dropped off already! Am now applying camrosa to help it heal.

There has been several posts about using camrosa on sarcoids recently, i would read them before using the camrosa as some people seem to have had problems with it. My youngster has a small flat sarcoid on his neck and we're getting the liverpool cream and claiming on his insurance.

You didnt say what potency of Thuja cream you used. I have used 30c pot. and have had 100% success on flat and warty type sarcoids. I used it 3/4 times a week and within a few weeks they all disappeared. This may have been a coincidence, however it has worked for me on 6 horses so I am happy to recommend it

Thank you for your advice. I am also using the 30c pot. It's always nice to hear success stories! I'll keep trying the cream for a few more weeks. Am trying to avoid the vet route and having it cut out as I have heard that they can grow back more aggressively. If the thuja doesn't work then I will probably leave alone for the time being and just keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get any bigger.

Some horse homeopathic sites recommend Thuja cream/tincture along with Nit. Ac (Nitric Acid) at 6c orally and others produce a specific remedy for Scarcoids as well so it's worth having a read and a google, there are a growing number of homeopathic veterinary surgeons now it might be worth a visit if one is close to you?

i read about using CREST toothpaste for sarcoids and it works!! Apply once a day after 1-2 weeks it shrunk down to nothing. Apparently only crest works no other tooth paste don't know why!
