Sarcoids-Turmeric, thuja...?

Hello everyone,

A friend has a horse with a sarcoid that has been banded once. It fell off and has now grown back, it is reasonably flat and small but it is in a position that it can rub from a martingale. She is looking for alternatives to liverpool cream for various reasons, however this is what the vet is currently suggesting.

Has anyone tried turmeric? did it have an impact, what were the results and over what timescale?

Or has anyone tried any other methods eg.thuja.

A livery used thuja on several small sarcoids her horse had on his face, he had the cream applied as well as the tablets daily, they all went over a period of several months leaving no sign that they were ever there and 4 years later no more had appeared, I would certainly try it on one of mine if they had sarcoids.
 
Use the search box at the top of this page and search SARCOIDS THE TOOTH PASTE EXPERIMENT ,also ask the TURMERIC USER GROUP on facebook they are very helpful.
 
If it has been referred to Prof. Knottenbelt and Liverpool treatment has been recommended I would go with that, why bother with the vet if you are happy to prolong things by using unproven remedies.
 
Are people still seriously thinking that Turmeric is a cure for cancerous growths?

We could save Cancer Research a fortune by suggesting instead of chemotherapy they just take them out for a curry and make sure they brush with Crest.

I have an open mind with most herbal remedies.Youngster has had Liverpool cream, cryosurgery,banding and thuja on his various sarcoids. Couple months ago started with tumeric teaspoon x 2 a day for month then once a day.
It might not be permanent or just a coincidence but after approx 6 weeks large verruca sarcoid all along top of eyelid went and 3 months later hair has regrown with no trace. nodular on chest and inside hind leg have also gone and scar tissue from cryosurgery 2 years ago that was proud and lumpy has also gone.
Don't know how or even understand it as last vets inspection we were due for more cryosurgery this Winter to avoid flies and serious surgery on his eyelid so I'm thrilled with the results.
I've been around a while so don't take things lightly and respect my horses wellbeing and health and dreaded more treatment this year, so all I can say is its worth a try!
 
Sarcoids = vet & proper treatment. Like I said above turmeric has not stopped my horse getting one so I'm pretty sure it won't affect an existing one. I keep thinking I will stop it but the only thing stopping me is as am anti oxidant it MAY have helped him not be as badly affected by atypical myopathy last april & having had that & strangles (with zero symptoms) last year I'm a bit superstitious about stopping it.
