I have read many a story on sarcoids and the creams/potions people use in trying to get rid of them. What has been your best method/treatment?

Mine has been just standard sudocrem, spotted the beginning of one appearing and the flies kept hovering there. So I kept applying sudocrem to stop the flies getting at it (it never got any worse) and eventually it just dropped off. Needless to say im very pleased about this:D

When mine had some on her head she had cisplatin injections from the vet. The result has been incredible! I was so worried as they developed and spread so incredibly fast, but a couple of months after the treatment and the skin was normal!

Sarcoids should always be left well alone, with the vet consulted for treatment. They are not to be messed with as the last thing you want is to exacerbate them. Some lumps will disappear of their own accord, but true sarcoids are absolutely not to be messed with.

What kind of sarcoid was it?

I am not too sure, but it just came and went within a few weeks. It wasnt very big, maybe about the size of a small pea and more a raised lump with a little 'crust' - I am assuming it was some kind of sarcoid, but then I could be totally wrong in which case I apologise. I put the cream on to stop the flies and was keeping an eye on it. There was no blood coming from it. Obviously if it had got any worse then id have had the vet out. It then started to recede and one morning had just gone! It was the only one though and had nothing since.

I think this is often the issue Tizzy, that a diagnosis hasn't been made at all, so there is no knowing what the lump was that disapeared with a bit of toothpaste/sudocrem/having a witches *** rubbed on it!

Since sarcoids are, to the best of my knowledge, a form of cancer, surely following the advice of a fully qualified veterinarian is the only way to go!
