I have a grey gelding, 9 yrs and he's had a sarcoid on his n/s front leg under armpit since dec, vets have used liverpool cream in dec, used thuja cream for a few months but sarcoid swelled so vets ringed and he's had another course of liverpool cream, still looking sore, vets coming Tues am to look again, but am open to suggestions and miracles as liverpool cream is very invasive.

I had liverpool cream on my mare would had sarcoids and it worked fine. Someone recommended Camrosa but as the liverpool cream worked I never tried it. However I have tried it for other things and it has worked.

I have camrose cream so might give it a go, got vet coming up on tues am anyway.

I have had several treatments with Liverpool cream carried out on my horse and every time it has worked. It is the best thing i have seen for sarcoids. It is expensive but worth it.

My boy had Xxtera cream (similar to Liverpool Cream) the sarcoid fell off after a week this stuff is cheaper and you can apply it yourself - maybe worth a try as it does have slightly different ingredients in it!

We have just treated my moms horse who has 3 sarcoids.

I dont know what the ointment is but its brown and looks like runny chocolate moose lol.

This ointment turns the sarcoid black and causes the tissue to swell and bleed but the vet has assured us that the worse it looks the better it will be.

That was 2 months ago now and the sarcoids have dropped off!!!

I will find out what its called for you tomorrow if you like.

I have been using newmarket cream ( similar to the xterra) I haven't seen anything happen yet apart from my girl is a bit sore and now so am I from where she booted me in the shoulder

My lad is starting with the liverpool cream next week first time I have used it the vet has to apply it on five visits so going to be a bit expensive but I am a a bit worried about how sore he is going to be any advice from those that have used it ? His sarcoid is on at the top of his inside leg. He is a bit of a wimp at the best of times.

I used the liverpool cream on my mare, there was alot of swelling around the sarcoid & I think it was painful, tho it did fall off. However, it grew back so I bought some aloe vera gel from Forever Living Products, "that won't work" said my vet, well ha, it did, the sarcoid fell off, the skin all healed over & she is just left with a little bald patch, why don't you try this? Painless & cheap!

Have used the newmarket cream, my horses sarcoid has peeled off now, and he is sore, but it just looks like a nasty graze. Hoping all will heal without a problem, but pleased with it so far!

I used Liv cream 2 years ago - had to have 2 courses as the first time some didn't completely go - I think that was just where he had rubbed the cream off though.

He had 14 of them - all pretty small, but they looked horid after treatment as they looked like open wounds, but he didn't seem overly concerned.

No signs of them coming back yet (touch wood, fingers crossed etc!) and he just has very small scars where they used to be.

In my experience, where camrosa, alo vera etc. have worked, the offending lump was not actually a sarcoid in the first place, usually a wart or bacterial skin infeciton.

It is very dangerous to use alo vera on proper sarcoids or melanomas as it encourages cell renewal and reproduction. If it is bacterial or a wart etc. this will be healthy cell renewal and will aid healing; but sarcoids and melanomas have "mutated" cells (think cancer) which will be encouraged to reproduce and can make things much worse!
