Satchmo - spooking or resisting?

Yes, what I meant is that there isn't a SEPARATE mark for the final halt, its taken along with the entrance and the first halt. It doesn't get a mark on its own.

I'm sure you can get a full transcription of the judges marks somewhere on the olympics website. Can't find it right now though.

Well there you go.... just as I thought.... Hohum! I do feel sorry for those who were, in my mind, much better but not marked accordingly. Another reason why I'm not a huge dressage fan as such.

But I did have tears on my cheeks while watching Reval

getting soft in my old age....

Also, there are coefficients of 4 for things like 'harmony of horse and rider' which are so subjective - I like the kur, but I can totally see why it shouldn't really be an olympic sport.

Ohhhh takes a stab to the heart, and I suppose, football, tennis, BMX riding etc etc all should!!!!!!!

With regards to Satchmo - spooking or resisting? it was a major resistance!!!!!

Richard Davidson went into commentry after Emma Hindles test and they disscused Satchmo then (from his Special tantrum). He said that Satchmo used to always do it in the piaffe and it had took a lot of time from Werth to get him out of the problem. Unfortunately for Werth it seems the pressure just got to much for Satchmo and throwing his toys out of the pram for a piaffe was the result.

All fairness to Werth though, very well done for gettin him back and finishin.

Football and tennis, I suppose yes, though given their professional incarnations, it's a bit silly. Don't know if BMX is judged on style or speed?

All I'm saying is that I can understand why there is a view that says the Olympics is about fastest, highest, strongest, and sports judged on style (diving, ice skating, gymnastics, and yes, dressage) are on slightly wobbly ground.

Personally, I think it's fine that dressage is in the Olympics (if the above mentioned sports are also in - and do they still do synchro swimming?!) - but I can understand the argument against, and the final and possibly most important event being the kur, which is of course the most audience friendly, but also far and away the most subjective, supports that argument.

I don't think they actually will ever remove all subjectively judged events for a minute.
