how much would you expect to get if you had to

Turn out, Muck out 10 horses, hays and waters?

Not set time just how long it would take (so could have quick and slow days)
 
Give 20mins per horse so about 3.5 hours. I'd probably give it 4 to be on safe side. Depends on alot really, how far fields are, how messy horse's are.

At 15 I turned out about 12 horses, and mucked out 5 or so and I think it took me about 3 hours.

Now I help my friend sometimes, I turnout and muck out etc 3 horses and it takes me an hour.
 
How old is she?

I would say about £25- £30 quid if under 16.
£35ish is 16- 18
18+ minimum wage would kick in so however long you think it would take times that
 
Meant to say, depends how old she is? At 15 ( few years ago!) i got £20.

For helping out at friends I get £45 which includes diesel money.
 
Well I do few more than that and start 7am sat and sun and finish about 11am. Takes about 15 min a stable including walking to muck heap 12 times with barrow, bringing up hayys or putting hays in fields, water being filled up(containers and buckets) put on rugs if cold or wet and turning out. I dont get paid though!!!! but for someone under 21 should think £5.85 per hour is the norm. min wage over 21 will be £6.08 hour from october.
You have to bear in mind how fast a person can work, like I will turn hose on to fill baths in field while I put hay out and turn out, some people may just stand and watch bath fill up! If you find someone who multi tasks thay its better.
 
How good is she at the job? How much do you want her to stay? Not in UK so can't help with money side but to ensure you have a good worker that turns up every Saturday without fail, pay her well.

Mucking out 10 horses as a young person is hard work.

On straw and full muck out allow 25 -30 mins max per horse, that is for mucking out, replacing water, filling and hanging the hay net and turning out the horse. That will take her up to 5 hours allowing for a break in between.

On shavings and just picking up dung then 15 mins per horse.

If a full muck out on shavings allow 20 - 25mins per horse.
 
We have a girl who comes on a Sunday, feeds, does haynets, turns out if needed, and mucks out for 3/4 horses. She also feeds and skips out the hens (which takes two minutes). In all, it probably takes her an hour and a half. When she was aged 14-17 we paid £10, and when she turned 17 we paid her £15. We also sent her home with a box of eggs and let her use one of our horses for shows when my stepson was at his mums. She never let us down - rain or snow etc. We had a great relationship with her. She has just finished, as now has a full time job. We have another 14yr old about to start, who will be on £10. She may only have two to do if the pony sells.

That could take around 2 hours depending on how fast you were - I think there were about 10 horses. Turnout, muck out (all on deep litter shavings), hay and water, sweep.

I worked alone and they used to leave cash on-site for me, so I got paid the same however long it took.
 
Where I was the YO paid her staff £5 a box to include mucking out, turning out the horse (rug change if necessary), doing hay and water. So £50. That's for adults and that's in London. Obviously tax and NI to come off.
