sausage boot

i have put a sausage boot on Herbie as he keeps kicking himself, he does it everywhere, even in the stable and comes out with bleeding fetlocks... but is it ok to leave them on all the time? i put it on the other leg tonight as it looks like where he has been kicking the boot its rubbed the back of his heal.
i have got it wrong?

not to sure i am right in saying but i think you could try equi chaps my friend uses them and it works for her mare

i do have them, but they would make him sweat and not very practial being in them 24 hours,

Is he very close behind in confirmation or is it a habit thing (ie swatting flies?)
