Is that normal behaviour?! He had just worked & was a bit sweaty, tied up without tack. Got the side of his face & head down on the floor, even thought he might be having some sort of seizure until someone said he was trying to roll. :( Girl pulled him up & he stood very still looking a bit vacant for a few seconds. Was fine after but it did worry me a bit.

I've seen a horse trying to do this - the girl had left him opposite my stable tied up to the bit  turns out he was just very stressed out that she'd left him and after going vertical a few times and getting himself tangled up in his martingale, I managed to grab his reins and he sank to the floor onto his knees :(
K x

ETA tbh I wouldn't put it past Kelly to try it either!! She always rolls on the stony hard part of the field rather than the grass part - I stand there and fret and fret!!! :(

It is really hot right now, and he sounds like he's just itchy. If you think it's colic keep him walking and call the vet. Otherwise let him have a roll in the field or stable and keep an eye on him for a while.

I don't want to alarm you, but from my personal experiences the only times I've had horses actually roll on concrete it wasn't good news. One time it was a colic case, the other time it was just before my old eventer died of a brain heamorrahge.
