I was sat in my window today in the arm chair feeding james and i heard a couple of horses coming so looked out of the window like you do.
2 big bay neds very impressive looking coming along, there is a guy who lives over road from em been divorced 3 times has whole tribe of kids running riot. One of said kids kicked a football into the road it bounced up and smacked one of the horses necks,so understnadably it gave a little tiny rear and a rather big spook [normal reaction]
Rider then scremed at it went hell to leather with the whip, which only upset it further to the point it lost its top and dropped her [cant say i blame it]
She then got up and went on to beat it from the ground then started screaming at it and calling it a puff and screaming at it to stand still so she could get back on.

so at this point i went outside and said whats going on?i was told to shut my F'ing mouth it was non of my business,i then pointed out that a ball had hit her horse so of course it got upset and she had no reason to beat it like she did.At this point the horse was turning cirlcles eyes rolling not very happy, she turned to me and spat im a qualified horse rider i know what im doing you know nothing. To which i pointed out i have ridden for over 20 years have horses and have taught and do work with the ILPH so yes i do know what im talking about. And beating a horse for a natural reaction to been attaked by an unknown object is abuse she then stated this horse is been trained to be bombproof so it will do as its told.

This point i just laughed and said ''if you were that experienced you would know a bombproof horse does not exsist'' at which point i went back in the house and just shook my head.I am totally shocked i dont know who she is i can only presume she is from the next village as i have never seen her before but she was so evil to that poor horse i have never seen anything like it.

im starting to wonder if i should of just hung fire and ignored it or if i was right to put her in her place a little bit without been aggresive just been the bigger person, would any of you gone out and told her its wrong to beat a scared horse like that especially when it has every reason to be upset.

well the old amy [marmite] would have done as people who know me in real life such as balckhawk, joya, arwen and anima could easily tell you.
But the new amy [james_08] is alot calmer and i found it quite annoying really as i would of loved to stove her head in but i could not muster the rage in me,been amummy has chilled me out way too much i think.

honestly im so different now since i got pregnant its scary sometimes but i used to be too ott at times but now when it counts i wish i could get the rage but im like a little hippy no i even have the saggy belly an boobs too just need a daisy head dress now pmsl

How far through are you? Due any time soon? I get far too angry and most things. I have such an unbelievably short temper. Especially when it comes to animal welfare.

oh i had him 21 weeks ago i was a total headcase before i got pregnant and i just seem to get calmer and calmer.

nope he is not riding horses,or playing rugby he will do ballet and stay at home with me till he is 35.

LOL! Are you dressing him in pink? Enjoy every minute of baby - he'll be a big spotty gangly thing before you know it.

Glad you had words with that girl - don't know why people who lose their temper and beat horses bother to ride at all - saying you're a "qualified horse rider" just makes it worse. You could have had a real go at her with her whip and blamed your hormones if she reported you to the police!

well a year and a half ago i would of glady beat her until her own parents would not of known her BUT now i just see things different she is just a silly spoilt girl wrecking a good horse, and i am also investigating as to who she is and i shall be making calls once i find out.

You did the right thing and I am impressed that you kept you're cool.
Motherhood has had the opisite effect on me,I find I am far less tolerent of stupid/ignorant/foul people then I was pre Ryan.
Mind you, that might be more to do with my knee's getting worse and riding again becoming a distant dream

i will tell J that it got lost on its way next door to G as she is desperate for a pony pmsl her mum would love me,and i can guarentee you now after i had banned motorbikes G would flip if a pony turned up pmsl.

Well Done you...I think I would have lost it and beaten her with the whip to see how she liked it... Rider was totally out of order it makes you wonder if thats how she treats the poor animal in public what the hell goes on behind closed doors.

You did the right thing

I would have been tempted to take the whip and smack her on the rear numerous times. No doubt I would have been locked up and given an extensive sentence for interfering and beating an 'innocent' rider. I think you did the most sensible thing. Hopefully she was just scared and doesn't do that sort of thing routinely. Poor horse.

Good on you for saying something to her.
I just hope she thinks about what she did but somehow I doubt it. She sounds like one of these that thinks she knows more than everyone else in the horse world. Silly cow.

I would have made sure her whip would have had to be surgically removed
