I was at a tack shop the other day and saw these and thought for £40 they were really good. They look just like leather boots. You would have to look hard to see that they weren't. A definite alternative to rubber boots

I keep seeing them advertised and think they look brilliant, especially for the money. The field boots look exactly like mine, unfortunately mine weren't £40

Yes they were recommended to me by others on here. Now that I'm no longer horseless, I think that a trip to Olney/Derbyhouse might be in order...

I thought about buying some just to wear around the yard (already got posh boots) but they don't fit me, my legs are too short

What length legs do you have? I'm having an awful time finding half chaps. I have enough probs finding jodpurs to fit and often end up in big kid's size, although since Easter (chocy) not sure that's an option anymore! I'm 5ft 1 by the way. Sorry to pinch your post but thought you could help me, I'm quite cheeky

can i just say something?

I tried a pair, found a size 5 too tight and a 6 too long.

bought my son a pair of equileather jodh boots and the colour's gone in them. they have faded (like a cream) patches all over

. I've tried boot polish but cos they're not leather it doesnt cover it.

I would rather buy leather.....

The first boots I had were Tato ones which I don't think they make anymore, and I bought some Ariat long boots of ebay that had been shortened. I'm 5'8 but my legs are really short from the heel to the back of the knee makes it really hard to get boots to fit. All the Ariat chaps are too long

I have trouble with 1/2 chaps too. I've been trying shires... Children's aren't quite long enough; xs adult ones are the right length but as soon as I have my leg on (sitting trot, canter, jumping) they twist backwards, which drives me nuts. I'm 5 ft 1 1/2. Could really do with xxs - same length but narrower.

Bought a pair of the field boots for the winter to save my leather ones and they were great. They look pretty much like the Ariat ones, nice and soft, light and comfy. The finish has rubbed and cracked a bit but have abused them so cant complain for the money

I tried shires adults but they were too long and kid's ones in those were going no where near. I such an odd shape all over - wide feet but heels, short legs and wide calves (although they don't look wide to the eye) thin waist (well till last few months) but big hips. Think I may have to set up own clothing company

could call it odd balls!
