Hi all,

I need some new riding boots to compete in all areas with but a) i dont want to spend a fortune and b) i do have a lovely pair of Dublin boots but they jsut never seemed to have softened up so they are so uncomfortable to ride in, i feel i have no movement in my ankle!

So i was just wondering what these boots were like? I do need to wear spurs aswell, and these have good sized spur rests as far as i can see. Im undecided on whether to get laced or without.....any thoughts would be great! :)

Thanks in advance!

Ive had a pair of the Saxon short boots and they were RUBBISH! Fell apart in a few wears, I wouldnt bother personally.

My tack shop wont sell them because they look cheap

They don't look cheap when new..quite realistic actually.

But they do soon start to crack where the boot bends on the foot.

If you were to wear them just for showing, say 3 or four times a month, then they would probably do the job and last a season.
But if you're wearing them around the yard they won't last long.

My mate who is sat next to me bought some and she went on a hack and they fell apart! Mine weren't much better to and the top layer scuffed really easily. Both our zips suffered problems too. We took them back to the saddlery shop we had bought them from and got our money back.

Agreed, I didn't think Saxon used leather to make their boots either, which is probably why they fall apart! Investment is the key with boots

they will grow out of them not wear out but I suppose not trendy enough:rolleyes:

My daughter now wears the same size as me, so I was happy to buy the Brogini boots that she wanted as they will be worn by me if she outgrows them.
But not everyone has the means to buy expensive boots and I do know of couple of people who love the saxon boots as they need very little maintenence and they just buy a new pair at the start of each season.
