This is my gorgeous boy Norman, who is 15 today! I've had him 11 years now, and he's come a fair way from the weedy dark (sob!) Lusitano x TB grey gelding I bought in 2004. We've had 3 years of injury setbacks, and I abandoned him to work in Australia for 18months. With that and a demanding job I had for 4 years that left me virtually no time to ride he has a pretty low mileage for his age. Oh yes, and me having a baby, that set things back too.

Greatest achievements have been competing at newcomers, and at the RC eventing championships in 2009.

He's such a forgiving honest boy, with such an lovely nature, with some work in him he'd probably be really talented lol

This year I'm hoping to do the RC eventing and that's it really, I have so little time it's not funny. :)

First and only puissance aged 5 - this is 1.30m

This year :)
On the grass I turned them out on today (well, it is his birthday!) it's not been grazed since October and as you can see, they've been starved for weeks :D

He says thankyou! As a treat he's getting new shoes on front tmrw and I might give him a carrot, and lots of kisses. :)

I just wish he stayed as dark as he was when I got him!

Happy birthday to Harley too :)

Thankyou :)

He was professionally cleaned for the wedding, I don't think he's ever been so pristine, he's normally a complete hippocroccopig wallowing in any mud or poo he can find.

He didn't care at all, I had practiced with a step ladder to mount and with big froufrou charity shop dresses beforehand though! I also picked a dress that had a big skirt, no fish tails for me, and I wore a hoop to give the dress shape, and that worked fine when I got on. I got an accidental but lovely black hoof oil hoof print on my dress too, I think it's still there after being dry cleaned :)

He looks lovely- I especially like that the pics document his greying out too!

He looks like a cheeky chap!

Happy Birthday Norman. May he have many more!

Awww he's beautiful. Happy birthday for yesterday Norman. I love how it shows his greying out process. I also have a grey who likes to get as dirty as possibly and look like nobody loves him haha :D

Thank you :)

Yes, I have no idea who his dad was, I was told it was a full brother to Novilhiero, but I don't think they've ever been in the UK from previous investigations. The breeder had the mare, and had a Luso stallion with them for a few weeks and thought why not, at least that the way it came across! His mum was a pony TB x NF, so he's part pony lol. You can see it in his face though, so I want to believe the story, I also attribute his laid back attitude to the Luso, as he's generally horizontal, but when he does spook and spin he does it super quick! I'd love a go at that Spanish equitation (grown up handy pony really) I think he'd be ace at it.

I wish he hadn't greyed out so much, he was almost a dun when a got him!

He has new front shoes on today after nearly two years bf, I couldn't make it work. So I shared some biscuits with him that we bring for the farrier, best present he could have had :)
