As some of you may remember Ted is the original industructable pony.

I have made the decision to PTS a number of times and 'on the day' he has recovered from whatever the problem was.

Well over the weekend his 9 lives ran out.

His laminitis had worsened, and he could not cope with being shod last Thurs, his feet were crumbling badly.

He is full of bute so not in too much pain, vet checked him 10 days ago, would not believe his age (40) and sais he was OK. However over the weekend he has gone very frail and has had a number of 'funny turns'/fits.

He will be PTS around 10.30 today, after having a final munch in the field.

I will be donating a 'SuperTed' challenge cup, as a beginners jumping prize to PC. He has taught so many kids to jump as he went on to 4 more loan homes after my kids had learnt. He came back to me to retire 2 years ago, but started work again shortly after teaching little Harry next door to ride.

RIP Teddy bear, you have been loved by so many.

Aww.. bless him - it sounds like he has had a good life

Will be thinking of you later this morning. What a lovely life Super Ted has had, and he is a lucky boy to have a caring owner who is making the ultimate sacrifice in letting him go, because it is the right thing for him.

Take care. Sleep Well Ted xx

Thinking of you Thistle and Ted. It sounds like Ted was lucky to have such a caring owner who gave him such a long and busy life. RIP Ted.

Wishing Ted an easy passing and a long play at Rainbow Bridge.

(((((Thistle))))) for giving an old man a wonderful long and fulfilled life and making sure his death was dignified and timely.

You have been a wonderful owner and given him a lovely life and a kind death.he sounds as though he deserved you though.Hugs to both. Enjoy rainbow bridge Ted.

I'm sure there will be a lot of sad people today, but a lot of happy memories associated with Ted. Thinking of you.

Oh hunny huge hugs!! He sounds like a magnificent specimen and will be sorely missed by the many lives he has touched.

RIP Ted

Not sure about 'magnificent specimen'.

He was a hairy, smelly cantankerous old git who made me smile every day with his funny little ways. The older he got the worse he behaved. Reminded me of Harry Enfields old gits, the ones who steal the kids footballs and burst them.
