Today my son's first pony is being PTS. He has been part of our lives for nearly 10 years is going to leave a massive hole in our lives. He's 29 & this summer is the first time we have struggled to keep weight on rather than off. That combined with his arthritis has made us decide now is the time to say goodbye, while he is still a cheeky little b***er. He has been on 2 bute for the last few days - might as well go feeling as good as he can & gave LUI23456 a right run around the other day when he got into the winter grazing.
Goodbye little Bobby - you were a cracking pony, but your legs won't ache this evening.

So sorry to hear this. My thoughts are with you and everyone who loves Bobby. I have to face this too in the next couple of weeks. Very sad but happy we are doing the right thing.
x

Sorry to hear you are going through the same thing Gable. Son is going to the pub (he's 18) tonight with a couple of sympathetic friends which should help him. I hope it all goes well for you.

Sounds like Bobby has had a great home with you and hope it goes ok and it is the kindest thing to do especially for an oldie, he has had a good innings.

Hope your son is fine as well. Good his friends are going out with him later.Good idea.

I hope all goes well, at least it will leave you all with happy memories and not lingering ones of him suffering in his old age. The kindest thing we can do for our old friends. xxxx

Always difficult to say goodbye but hopefully knowing you are doing the right thing for little Bobby will help you in time to come. Wishing him a peaceful passing. Sleep well Bobby, no more pain boy.

The last thing we can do for our faithfull friends is to make sure they do not suffer, its very hard and very sad but you are doing the right thing , my thoughts are with you all.
Goodbye god bless dear Bobby.

Thankyou again for all your kind thoughts.
It all went very smoothly & he died with a mouthful of mints having eaten about a kilo of carrots plus other assorted treats this morning. It was really strange that, having ignored all the comings & goings all morning - and there are workmen in so not just the usual stuff - when the Vet arrived he came trotting down as if to greet him and stood waiting for him. It was almost as if he was saying I know what the treats were for & I'm ready.

Ahhh, bless him. Hope you're all okay. I bet he loved all of the mints and carrots!! I do think they know, I had my nans dog PTS last week (I know it's not the same) but she just lay there, knowing we were helping her. RIP Bobby x x x

A friend of mine has also had to have her beloved pony PTS today too.
My thoughts are with you and her today, truely upsetting but brave decisions.
RIP Bob and Truffle.
