Any idea what this is and whether is is serious?

It started a bit scabby and is looks like the pictures now - am trying to leave it to settle, but as it doesn't seem to be getting worse, haven't called the vet - should I?

Really sorry, I have never seen anything like that before. If it were me, I would ask the vet to take a scraping and send for analysis. The only thing that comes to mind is 'mange'.

Needs the vet I'm afraid - just to be sure. It's not necessarily a lergy of any description, it could be a reaction to over-tight bandaging, neoprene in boots or something like that. You'll probably get various advice on lotions & potions to try, but if it were me I'd want to know WHAT I was treating.

Hi there

Have you tried Camerosa ointment? It's fantastic for all those kind of things. I used it for really bad mud fever and to treat a wart on a youngster and it's brill!!

Gett the vet first before you start putting ANYTHING on it. You need to know what you are treating before you potentially make the situation worse by putting stuff on it.
