I have had my new horse for three days now. I brought him in from the field today and his head is covered in little scabby/crusty lumps. He has had his head burried in the blackberry bushes since he arrived, could this be the cause??? please help.

I would be interested in finding out what that is too as my ned has scabby lumps on his head too and they seem to be really itchy. Am going down to the yard today with some tea tree oil and see if that helps.

sounds like little scratches that hes got off the brambles to me that are just going a bit scabby. Id sponge them with warm water to keep them clean and put aloe vera gel on the daily.

Bloss used to get cuts on her nose as she'd stick it in the bramle fences round her old field - lukily now her field is all P&R so we dont have this problem anymore!
