Please say if you think this should be in veterinary section - just figured it would get more reads here
My daughter was grooming a friend's pony at the yard tonight and we noticed some hard lumps around the saddle area. After parting the hair I found these hard scabs with a yellowy sort of colour - like dried pus???
There was about 5 seperate ones on his back and they are no bigger than a 5p piece. We picked the scab of one and it came off to reveal raw skin that was a bit watery??? Have left the rest as we don't want to make them sore.
Does anyone know what they could be? The owner and everyone else at the yard had no idea either......
The pony is Welsh Mountain Sec A, bout 21yo and has not been ridden for 6 years.
many thanks!
