Scabs/bare patches on forehead?

My yearling filly has developed scabs and bare patches under her forelock. Everyday there seems to be another couple developing. Only on her forehead though. Any thoughts what it might be or how I might treat it? I have never seen her rubbing her head so I don't think it is rubbing causing it. I'll try and post a photo.

Highly likely rubbing from midges, both of mine do this.

or lice, common in youngsters and I've always noticed bald bits on the face first.

You can get a bit of rainscald type stuff on the forehead and down the front of the canon bones at coat change time, it might be that.

Lice can cause bald patches on head and are common in youngsters

I've not experienced rainscald, but that's what it looks like to me. I'll research products to deal with it.
