scam or real???

I think its probably real - but very amateur business. Runs from home, lots of spelling mistakes on the website, doesn`t charge VAT etc. No sure if I would buy unless they are cheap.

Haven't looked at the website but BE CAREFUL! If something looks amatuerish, it probably is. If it looks like it's being run by a 14 yr old from home, it probably is. And worst of all, if something looks too good to be true, it ALWAYS IS! You work hard for your money - make sure you spend it wisely.

Hmmn odd that they say 'We are a home based business that buys products straight from the suppliers, we do not get charged VAT so we dont charge you VAT on anything you buy! ' any wholesaler should be charging them VAT!
Or did it fall off the back of a lorry?

Also check out their returns policy - won't refund only replace. This is against the legal requirements of the Distance Selling Regulations, where you have the opportunity for 7 days to inspect the goods then to cancel the contract and return the goods if you wish.

Site is built on free software and domain is via 'yolasite' = made on the cheap and looks it. Spelling is appalling too, that alone would put me off - is simple enough to type in word to use the auto spell and cut & paste to site

Finally - contacts page. No street address of phone number - again a legal requirement of internet sellers. This alone would put me off shopping here, as I'd have no address should anything go wrong. Hotmail email address too!

Dodgy? Possibly! Naive seller? Definitely!

On the VAT point, you dont have to charge VAT if you are a wholesaler, only if your turnover comes over a certain threshold.
However, it is the businesses that can reclaim the VAT on their purchase price which have to charge it to purchasers, so either you pay vat and you charge it, or you dont and you dont. Seems like they have got confused somewhere.

If they are getting confused on such basic business points, I think I would not be trusting them with my money.

surely if they dont pay vat on their wholesale purchases , and their enterprise is small and not registered for vat , then they wouldnt charge vat anyway , so anything you purchased off them would indeed be vat free .

Most of it is the economy range (Indian leather and Indian made) from a well known wholeasaler, one of the saddles shown is being sold costs us about 30-40 quid trade, they have it up for £200!!
The bridle shown is less than a tenner trade, if they are going to sell imported tack then at least they should be open about where it comes from so you, the public can make an informed choice.
There's dozens that's under estimating it, of people selling this range on ebay and other sites so it's nothing new, Oz

This is very over priced for what it is, I have a trade account with this wholesaler and I can't believe the mark up! I don't sell the leatherwork as it's cheap and nasty imported rubbish (got my own saddler who makes me lovely things).

The wholesaler is VAT registered so they do get charged VAT, but if they are a small business then they don't have to charge their customer. I am VAT registered and still sell the products on that website for less!

I wouldn't touch with a bargepole any website that does not list their name, postal address and telephone number on their contact us page. Add to that a hotmail (free to obtain) email and a website made on one of those free hosting packages - if you can't spend a few pound for your own web domain it doesn't inspire me with confidence to give you any of my money!!
