Just a heads up. I made a purchase online last week to a seemingly very professional website (Equinetstore) who claim to be the online arm of Manor Equestrian. Just had it confirmed by Manor Equestrian that this is a scam, and has already been reported to Action Fraud.

Please be aware if searching for goods to buy online... the website is very professionally done and looks very convincing.

If the delivery date has passed then you can raise this as a chargeback with your bank, assuming you paid via card.

I have seen this before on hoof boot groups, the price of the boots was a big giveaway that it's not legit (less than half what they cost from normal shops).

Hope you get your money back quickly.

Aahhh...yes, it was hoof boots we were buying! Fortunately, somehow or another, the bank has confirmed that the payment failed (maybe entered a wrong card digit) so not out of pocket, but it's infuriating. No doubt others haven't been as fortunate.

I had a similar scare just before xmas with a fake muck boot site. It was completely convincing, but within minutes of receiving a confirmation email I started to have some doubts. I phoned my bank, and they suspended the payment as it was still showing as pending, thank goodness. I reported the site to the genuine muck boot company.

Scams are getting more devious in nature. Im on the emailing list for Kramer.com, and recently a link in their genuine email was diverting to an unrelated site. I reported it to them as it would potentially have gone to their entire mailing list.

I've had similar but a strap for an apple watch strap for a Christmas gift.

OH sent me the link, it was late so I stupidly just bashed through the order.

I emailed them to say I'd ordered the wrong colour. No reply. Alarm bells should have rung then.

Got after them again as it hadn't arrived and it was a couple of days to Xmas. No reply.

I then looked on their website. What a shame I didn't earlier as if I scrolled down the page I'd have seen it change to French. Some of the pages were French, others English. Oh but the returns address is in the United States despite the straps apparently being dispatched from their UK store.... they also apparently reply to email within 24 hours...

Laid right into them via email as still no strap - but checking my order status apparently it had been delivered... er no!! Course they didn't reply and of course I don't have the stupid strap!

Trouble is as they're based in the US there was nothing I could do. B******s.

Sorry to hear this! Hopefully it all gets sorted out for you! [ETA - just saw the payment never went through thankfully, that's good!]

Just a general tip to everyone - always take a look at Trustpilot when ordering online. If the Trustpilot reviews are negative or if the company doesn't exist, avoid the company. Funnily enough, recently I've found myself buying more via tack shops on Ebay because the rating system is so clear, you can really see what others say about the company, and you can have easy direct contact with sellers. EBay is also supposed to be very good when there's scams, disputes, etc. A couple years back I would have steered clear of ebay and thought websites were the safer way to go.

I also stay away from Amazon because (among other reasons) there's a lot of issues with new relatively unknown suppliers sending fakes and knockoffs to amazon and I've had lots of quality issues buying via amazon sellers.

This is why I order so much regular stuff from Amazon and horse stuff from a couple of websites that I use regularly. In some ways I hate that I use Amazon rather than independent retailers, but they are fantastic if you have a problem with an order, or if something doesn't arrive.

Whenever I come across a web site store that is new to me I go to the Contact Us pages to see their details. Do that on Amazon and you find a huge number of companies are in China or Hong Kong. In this case their contact me page has this quotation under every link.
It elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

It translates as
It is the earth's right to mourn, nor bears a lot of pain, the dishes of the lion cushion.
Dead giveaway as a fake site.

I've seen posts about this website on FB groups with other people being scammed. One of the first things wary shoppers do is look at the About Us page and when they see a well-known and reputable UK limited company on there like Manor Equestrian they are likely to think they are safe. I know Manor Equestrian are aware of this and are trying to have the site closed down or at least their name removed from it but seems things are taking some time.

I had the same. I ordered masterclip clippers. The phone number was dead and no response from emails when I chased. Had an order confirmation. Took six months to get money back from my card. I raised with police through action fraud and citizens advice web site and they all said there wasn’t anything they could do. Useless.
