I have just received the flyer for the the Spring Hunter Trails Scarborough and district riding club are holding at Hamley Hagg Farm in early april. Has anyone competed at this venue and what do you think of the ground, fences etc. I am thinking of taking my youngster there for a confidence giving round but it's too far to travel on the Saturday to walk the course and see for myself.

Have competed there a number of times. Basically based around three fields so not twisty. The first two are straight downhill and then uphill with jumps downhill which is quite steep. Third field is flat. Jumps are in good condition including mushrooms, brush etc. Water in the small classes is easy but very mucky. If u Google mbf liveries there should be some pics on there. Nice course first one I ever competed round and went clear. Pm me if u want as can probably list all fences if I thought about it as been round a dozen times!

Ditto - I'll post some vids for you in a bit (rushing off to work) but I take babies there for a first trip out. I trot down the hills though! There's a big gap between the middle sized fences and the big ones but generally it's nice. The ground's hard in summer but should be fine this time of year.

There are a few in the timed section but depends on if they run this bit or not and if those fences are used or not, they are only little. Round the main course cant think of anything, no corners etc, and the bonus is the small fences and the middle height fences are usually side by side so not just a skinny set out to aim for.
