My gelding had treatment for ringworm several weeks ago, its now all cleared up and treatment has stopped with the all clear from the vet.
The ringworm didn’t cause him to go bald, just hivey and lumpy with typical circular marks all over his bum and hind legs. The issue is… the hair where these circular marks were has grown back in a darker colour and these hairs are growing faster than the rest of his coat. He’s a bay, and the circular marked hairs are growing back almost completely black!
I re-clipped him yesterday to hope it would help (making all the hair the same length) but it looks no different at all. People stare at him on hacks, he almost looks part appaloosa. Doing a group flatwork lesson would be shameful as he quite literally looks riddled with ringworm.
Basically just asking, is there any products on the market that might help?
I really hope he’s not going to look like this forever.. please someone tell me his summer coat won’t grow through like it..
