:( as title, we might have to scrap our box and get a new one.

Has anyone recently scrapped a J reg Leyland Daf 45 (Not Turbo) 7.5 ton? chassis is fine but box is just moldy and needs going and its not worth replacing or making a new one as in a year or two would need to upgrade to a 14 tonner. Will get another 7.5 for now as mum can drive it if needed while sister does her C test.

I had to, but through my insurance company (a J reg Leyland daf 45, cab and chassi great but horsebox beyond economic repair). The people that came and took it were this salvage company http://www.jlloyd.com/currently-breaking. I am sure there are many others.

You could also list on ebay with honest statement re. horse area needs replacing but chassi and cab fine, might get someone who wants to take on a project....

Thanks, it's a shame as the chassis is fine if I could I would just replace the box but I don't think that's going to be worth while......all I would want is the horse area fine, the living (well the small bit that I would want) could be done bit by bit.

Blooming thing, it could of waited till next year, got the kitchen at home to redo too!!!!!:(

Put it on Ebay for spares or repair, we sold a Daf like that, it didn't even have a body.

I have an old Dodge and I was offered money for it too.

I scrapped an L reg Daf as it was a rust bucket. If your chassis is fine, I agree, stick it on Ebay with an honest report of what's good and what's bad. I probably should have put ours on Ebay but it seemed too much hassle at the time!
