scars going white

hi
my horse was very lazy the other day and i used the spurs on him. unfortunately we had a few awkward jumps and my spurs dug in to him, leaving him with a cut on one side. its not sore and i really do not want it to go white (hes a dark bay) as we do some working hunters. what is the best thing to put on it?

( i usually have a good leg position, but has anyone else found that as soon as they really have to kick their horse to go forwards their leg position disappears?)

i usually have a lesson with my friend once a week

any advice?

Cornucrescene is the only thing I know that brings back normal hair?? heal the cut first (bless him) then put this on to grow normal hair. Or camorosa is good.

once the cut has healed I normally use baby oil

You shouldn't be kicking your horse and wearing spurs at the same time. One or the other.

(i didnt know i was going to have to kick him whilst wearing spurs... I cant see below my knee when i am riding!)

Aloe Vera Gel. Start using it immediately as it will help the wound heal, it will also help the hair grow back normal coloured.

I'd suggest not wearing spurs until you have a secure enough leg position for this to not happen again. Perhaps use a whip to back up your leg aid if he doesn't listen to your initial nudge. You should never have to kick a well schooled horse, thats how they become numb to your leg.

Yes, but what I mean is, if you're wearing spurs then you mustn't kick! And if you don't have enough lower leg control, then don't wear spurs!

Spurs are supposed to apply an aid subtley & accurately by a rider who knows what they are doing & how to use spurs. Using them as you have & actually cut your horse is inexcusable. Get rid of the spurs & have more lessons to teach you how to apply aids correctly. It's disgraceful what you have done...& the worse thing is that you don't seem to consider you have done anything wrong
