I was driving up the A1 yesterday at about 60 miles an hour in my litle Kia Picanto when my bonnet litrally flew up and hit my windscreen for no reason!
It was very scary but managed not to panic and guided the car sucessfully into the start of a slip lane. Fourtunatley the windscreen didnt crack or smash so i think we were very very lucky.
Fourtunatley, Green Flag came out within 20mins as the bonnet was so bent it became stuck in an upright position! With lots of force and a large strap tying it down we made it home.
Now i have a dilemma, after phoning endless scrap yards i cannot get hold of a replacement bonnet and really want to avoid claiming on the insurance. Do i buy a new bonnet and have it sprayed black or keep ringing in the hope one will turn up??
Any advise would be greatly appreciated
