Hacking out yesterday, trotting along doing a bit of leg yield, see some walkers, no problem, time it so that I go past them on the other side of the road, until about 20m away BL spots them and goes into defense mode, dead stop and spin. Got his head turned and trotted forward, with him pretending they now were not scary, silly horse!
Had a brill time after that though, good long hack though boyo still not tired!

How strange I had the same thing yesterday too!

Took warmblood out for a hack, he can be nappy anyway but was being really bad, lots of people walking up the lanes because it was a nice day, we approached a hill, some walkers coming up other side of the road, he just stopped dead and stood up so straight, he was so tense felt like a statue, eventually coaxed him on but he spent the whole ride trying to nap home.

When we did turn for home he tried to run the whole way, mind you he hasnt been ridden for 4 weeks so a bit full of it!

This morning there was a black dustbin bag stuck in a tree, just above head height. Could I get the bl**dy horse past it...rear, spin...rear, spin...aarrgghh! I got off and lead past it in the end, very ashamed of myself

, but at least we got past and then she was fine, following me around until I found a piece of farm machinery in a gateway to use to get back on again.

Were hacking out one day and it was drizzling and we were going round a corner and these 2 walkers were there with their big black umbrellas but because the rain was going to towards them they had them pointed right at us - the horses were totally freaked and though they were monsters - i was shouting can you put your umbrellas down please whilst trying to stay on my horse lol

We were babysitting my friend's youngster on his first hack yesterday - and whilst the baby behaved impeccably, my 16 year old idiot, took great offense to an elderly collie and his elderly owners, and proceeded to treat them to a mini display of Spanish Riding School manouvres before launching into his best racehorse-on-his-way-to-stalls impression and generally behaving like a tw*t.
I was not a happy person (although did have a bit of a smug smile when a passerby asked if he was the youngster! Nice to know that he doesn't look his age when he's not acting it!).
