Looking at various photo's of the snow & getting quite scared!
No snow has reached us down in Hampshire yet, except for a few couple of minute flurries, but am expecting some tonight, or so the weather man tells me!
It's frightening! I hate the cold & the thought of being snowed in & not being able to get to the horse tomorrow is rather worrying! I'm over-reacting & such a drama queen but still, if it's anything like last year...!

Echo Bravo that did make me giggle!

It does make me remotely sad that the days are gone when i could wake up & go 'wooop snow! no school!' & it was as simple as that! Nowadays its more 'Jesus Christ how am i going to feed the ponies?!'

...Now excuse me while i get my home made bin lid sledge & thermals ready for tomorrows trip...!

I couldnt get back to my house last night because I got caught in the snow at the yard and had to dump the car. I couldnt get to the yard this morning or to work as I'd just missed the bus that crashed into a lorry in the next village and they stopped them. Manged to get the YO to feed and water the foal (must remember bottle of whisky for christmas). But tonight i was a determined bunny. Got two burly passers by to push the car out and got as close to the farm as I could without having to go up hill (the car wont!). Walked the rest of the way then accosted another passerby to push me out again. Again had to leave the car at the bottom of a hill and its forcast for 10cm tonight. Tomorrow I might have to face the 10 mile round trip on foot across country, thats if the buses dont turn up and i have a day off! Winter - the joys of horses! Next year I'm buying a Defender!!!!!

That's awful! You must have been pulling your hair out! Congrats on your determination today & thank god for the helpful YO. I don't think i'll have enough snow down my way to actually cause a problem as yet (fingers crossed!) but if so i too will be walking cross country, or possibly down the motorway! Mine's a 20 mile round trip and not something i really wish to be doing in minus temps! I will do it though, tennis rackets stuck to my boots and all!
Us horse owners are mad aren't we?
Good luck with tomorrow.

I have a foal too (well, he's a yearling now but i still like to think of him as 'the baby'!)

I'm really hoping the weather clears by the weekend as my daughter's christmas pressie (new pony) is being picked up on Sunday from Gloucester to go on the boat to come home from Portsmouth!

OP - I may well PM you with weather updates this week!

What bad timing the weather has! What a wonderful christmas pressie for your daughter though, every little girls dream to have a pony arrive on Christmas day isn't it? :)

Isn't it just! She does know about this new pony tho, just didn't want to tell her when she was coming. I tried to keep it a secret but I am no good and probably just as excited as her!

What a lovely Xmas prezzie, Gloucester very close to me :) am i the only one that wants snow?? :P

I want snow too, I love snow, but just not this weekend please!!
