I know I’ve said this a few times but I’ve just finished a training session that has made me want to say it all over again - a huge thank you to those of you who suggested scent work!

Millie is just amazing.... we’ve had a few glitches which have been due to me needing to learn as much as her, but she is so quick and intelligent it just amazes me ? I wasn’t getting her to stay with the scent long enough, so we are practising longer indications at the scent pots - she ace’d it this evening, it gives me the same massive buzz as a riding lesson used to do but at a fraction of the price ?

We have a way to go yet of course but my trainer has said she will be very good when we get the basics established as she is so flipping fast.... I’ve got her booked in for a couple of clinics in September as they are starting up again after COVID 19, and I’m having so much fun ?

Gratuitous pic of her staying still for more than 2 seconds yesterday.... ?

I was thinking of you earlier ? and was hoping you'd update. Great news! I'm glad you're both enjoying!

Thank you! Honestly I can’t believe the buzz I get - my trainer is fantastic, so supportive and encouraging, but even after years of having dogs I’m amazed at how smart Millie is! You can see her working it all out.....’hmmm, well that doesn’t get me the reward I want so I’ll
do X’..... it’s truly amazing ?

We are also trying a beginners workshop on ‘hooping’ in September.... I think she will be very very fast but will lack the necessary recall/control ?..... it is so much fun finding new things to challenge her ??
