10 month old Standared Schnauzer stole some chicken skin and a sausage yesterday and then had an accident in the night and has an explosive bottom this morning. She is quite uncomfortable and won't settle. Didn't touch her breakfast. Any advice? Should we give her no food for the rest of today and then something bland tomorrow? She normally has Fish4Dogs puppy food with a bit of Chappie mixed in, she won't touch plain dry food.

My 2 Dobes currently have upset tums, starved them for 48 hours and they will be on chicken and rice for a couple of days before returning to their normal diet. If it returns or if their poo changes appearance they will be both down to the vets with a sample. They are both bright as buttons and charging around like loonies as per normal but again if they seemed subdued I would be down to the vets.

I'd say 24 hours no food at all, just water and make sure he keeps drinking as 'the poops' can cause dehydration. Then a small amount of boiled rice and chicken poached in water on the second day and again on the third, keeping an eye on poos. If all okay after a couple of days mix half normal food with half chicken and rice. My GSD has a sensitive tum and works for him. Poor little man! Hope he feels better soon x
