Following an incident in our school tonight. "if thy horse is being a **** on the lunge, remove it!" Young girl riding by herself (I say young she's 15 and riding AM dressage!) when another girl brought her 24/7 stabled, just out of racing (left training 2 weeks ago!) 3yr old into the school. TB went absolutely loopy on the lunge, rearing, bucking, galloping flat out dragging owner all over the place. Owner then proceeds to crack whip loudly whenever it stopped! I would have objected loudly if it was me riding but polite 15 yr old just squeezed past and left! That's just so ignorant and rude IMHO. Rider was in first and had to leave because someone else was being an idiot!

OMG i seriously hope somebody has words with that girl. Firstly about her manners and secondly about the whole downtime for an ex racer rather than keeping it in a stable to then explode. Accident waiting to happen springs to mind. Glad the young girl was sensible enough to just get out safely tho

dizzydancer I have tried to speak to this girl before but she doesn't want any help. Apparently she knows it all anyway! We have another family on the yard who had 4 horses in training. 2 of which have successfully been retired and retrained. Their owner tried to suggest this girls new horse might benefit from some time out. It fell on deaf ears! I have spoken to the YO as I can see a serious accident happening fairly soon. I also felt furious for the young girl, she's a lovely gentle person and far too nervous to stand up for herself in situations like that

This is so dangerous, it needs to be addressed, the person obviously hasnt got a clue how to conduct themselves when lungeing.
Personally i wouldnt lunge an unpredictable horse while someone was riding.
All involved have had a narrow escape imo
