My daughter who is 8yrs has a 12hh pony. What I need is some schooling advice. The pony if very stubbon and with a past history of being in a riding school, isn't well schooled. She is very pretty and could do well in the show ring if we could get her working better. The problem I have is that due to my daughters age she obviously struggles taking on board instructions and I just don't have the money to pay someone to school her for me. Any advice on work I can do with her to get her a bit more flexible and working in a better outline would be great

lost of longreining, and lunging work would help get her working properly and more flexible

[/ QUOTE ] Yes that would grt her more supple, are you light enough to ride the pony yourself, thats what i done with my daughters pony, lots of transitions and circles etc I done a lot of lateral work as well to get her listining to the aids then after i had ridden her I then let my daughter on but as I teach in riding schools and also the liverys on yard I taught her myself, is there anyone that maybe help you, I had a 16.2 mare to ride for a lady she was very scared of it but could not afford someone to school it we came to the agreement THAT SHE WOULD DO THE STABLE WORK ON MY THREE horses as payment for me schooling, which as i was always busy at yard, it ment my horses were done and i just stayed back for an extra hour, tust a thought if somthing like that is poss for you
