i'm running out of schooling exercise with my horse,
I do plenty of hacking and lungeing so I only school 2-3 times a week but, I walk- trot canter each rein, do plenty of circle of different size - I try to vary exercise on each session: serpentine, leg yield, trotting/canter poles, few transition but I think we are both getting bored and my horse is very good at knowing what's coming and anticipating, I would like to do more new exercise so she is less likely to go on "autopilot" when schooling.
something that desperately needs improving is transition, after a few she anticipate them too much which becomes a problem (I'm not doing them at the same spots).

Hi - i would try putting poles for walk, trot and canter around the school but 2sets for each gait. Make 1 set so that you have to collect and the other set so you have to extend and have them going in order ie walk poles, then trot poles then canter poles then change rein and copy the other side but having to extend or collect over them. Your transitions will have to be sharper or youll sod up the next set of poles. I find that engages them really quickly and it keeps your mind occupied aswell.
When you get good at it you could raise them aswell. Hope that helps (and makes sense!):)

leg yeilds within circles.
flexation in various degrees to each side whilst maintaining 2 tracks, in all paces.
variations within the paces- asking for shortening and lengthening
teaching her new exercises- eg shoulder in on the straight and circle on 3 and 4 tracks, progressing to travers, HP.in walk trot and canter.
direct transitions- eg walk-canter-walks on circles and on the straight.
counter canter on the track and circles
changes of leg through 3 strides of trot on the straight and circles, or simple changes or flying changes.
i like doing a 20m circle at E/B and then at each corner making a transition of some kind (eg trot to walk, or canter to trot or a collection of the pace) and doing a 5m circle and then rejoining the 20m circle again with another transition. (if that makes sense!)
