Hi, i am re-schooling my ID x TB.
Bit of background.. Kerry was broken as a 5 year old, but only ridden half a dozen times due to being too green for the rider. My mum bought him and got him riding nicely, she used Kerry for horseball and happy hacking. He never really got properly schooled.
The problem is my right leg seems to have 'disappeared' when riding him. I have no response then I touch him with my leg what so ever!
Last summer he was amazing and his schooling was coming on leaps and bounds, I never had this problem.
When i school, I don't tend to use a whip but when I do, its the same problem. with my left leg I can leg yield and half pass (only in walk) and this is almost perfect, however when i try with my right leg i seem to end up either in trot or he just ignores me. I can carry a whip on the right side to back up my leg but again he ends up faster (generally canter).
I have had his back checked and all the rest no problems at all.
He done this last year and this spring no problem at all.
What can I do??
