Decided to hop on the boy last night in jeans and half chaps/jod boots.

Couldn't believe how they made my leg stick in the classic dressage position - I was tres impressed!

Think I may school in jeans all the time! haa haa x

i always wore jeans to ride the racers with half chaps. very comfy, i also wore trainers on my feet. i'm into pure comfort lol
had to change when i went to a riding school, back in joddy boots and jodphurs. i hated it!

I ride in jeans, as sometimes i cant be bothered wearing joddys. I love riding in mine very comfy, and i did work on a racing yard and they allowed me to wear jeans as most people prefer them.

I regularly ride in jeans and half chaps....very comfy....and if you buy jeans for about a tenner a pair, a hell of a lot cheaper than breeches at around £50

I like riding in jeans, but I wear under breeches with them, solves the problem of rubbing. I have done away with jodhs now and only have two pairs, one for best and one for incase I ever have to wear them.

I ride in jeans - I had them on when I broke my ankle and as swollen as it was I'd have had to cut jods off. But I wear jods if I am jumping or doing faster work - seen some nice friction burns on people from riding in jeans and falling off - you don't get that with jods

I bought some skinny fit jeans from Primark - fit wonderfully under riding boots or chaps, and are stretchy enough to be really comfortable to ride in. Hacked for two hours in mine on Saturday and they were comfy and warm.

Not bad for 6 quid!!

Noooooo!! Don't like riding in jeans, and I was under the impression it's not great for your tack. I am quite happy in jods and always wear them.

I play polo, hack and school in whatever I have on (within reason though I have been seen on micks in a skirt!!

), usually jeans or cords and half chaps. I find them just as, if not more comfy then jods and they're a hell of a lot easier t wriggle out of afterwards!

Just be careful as several Saddlers sya riding in jeans invalidates any warranty on thier saddles (Barnsby and Albion spring to mind) as the seams damage the leather

Ahhh I think my jeans are a bit more comfortable as they're stretch and soft denim.

I just can't believe how they make your leg position perfect.....very spooky

Ihave 1 pair of jeans I can ride in, they are tres comfy. Got them from new look good ew years ago. They have not rubbed once and are the only pair of jeans I have that aren't baggy on me!

I can only ride in jeans if they are the skinney fit ones and wear my half chaps with them. Once i went on a 2 hour hack with proper jeans on. Nevr again i ended up walking the last 10 minutes home!

unless at a comp i ride in jeans all the time, i haven't got time to faff around getting changed and i like having proper pockets!

Have only ridden in a jeans a couple of times when I was hacking a friend's horse - didn't seem to rub at all.

Not allowed to ride full stop at the yard if you're wearing jeans

Why not? what's it to them?
When I buy jeans I go for stretch ones with plenty of leg length and the double seam on the outside of the leg, not inside as is more normal. I ride in jeans a lot.

You have to clean you tack 7 times if you wear jeans or the tack inspector at pony club will be able to tell and will mark points off.

Just a RS with high standards and the whole "jeans rub your legs etc" school of thought. Don't think I've ever seen any of the liveries ride in jeans either

mmwwhhaa - can you imagine Ty and I doing pony club - excellent!

Because jeans wreck saddles! We would allow clients to wear jeans if they were beginners, but after a few weeks I would ask them to buy some johds or breeches, or if they didn't want to do that, wear jogging bottoms instead. You can get some jeans that are ok, but the vast majority of fashion jeans will trash saddles - if its your own, that's one thing, if it is a rs's then you can see why they have a problem!
