Hello, I have fairly recently bought an 14.3 gypsy vanner cob. He has worked on blackpool promanade all his life though he retired early due to a minor road accident. After buying him I rode him in the menage at my yard I realised he had never been schooled before so just getting him to stick to the outside of the track was difficult at first, I dont think he has ever even been in a menage before :S When I have rode him in the feild he is a superstar in the, very responsive, egar, bombproof etc.

Any advise as how to start him off would be greatly appriciated :)
Thanks x

Cant you school him around a field out on hacks etc> Start basics again etc Lead him round menage or follow another horse...am sure you will get more expert advice. Depends what you want to do but as I am a happy hacker I can see it from your cobs point of view! Sorry...he sounds lovely.

Is that him in your pic? did he pull the carts on the front? least he must be bombproof in terms of traffic/people. Could you get someone to come ab give you lessons starting from scratch?
