I am needing to build a small circular schooling area in my field for starting my youngster in the next few weeks. Has anybody on HHO done this before and can you show pictures of how you've done it and how big you made it.
I think I saw someone on here had fenced off a circled area with fence posts and electric fence tape, but I can't be sure.
Would this be safe?

We don't have a school so in the summer I school in the field, however I wanted to try join up once and some lunging so I made a circle of posts and electric fencing probably just a bit bigger than 20m, big enough for mare to canter safely around. My mare was fine but I wouldn't do it if your horse doesn't respect electric fencing (I didn't have a current on it) and if you think they may jump it.

My friend has a round pen in her field its about 45 feet made from post and rail it has a sand surface and drainage... some people favour soilid sides so there isnt so much to destract the horse's attention.. as the other poster said tempoary fence panels could work but I think you will need to be sure the footing is safe ie not to hard and not slippy it would be best if you could put one up in a arena perhaps???
