Daisy had three days off since she her last schooling, we'd hit a real rut so I decided I needed to rethink my strategy.

A huge thank you to whoever suggested cantering over a single pole in the corner to neaten up the transition. It stopped her rushing, she just pinged up into a nice uphill canter and went really soft into the hand. I did it twice on each rein and then called it a day for canter work because she did it soooo well I wanted to stop that bit on a high. What do i now try in my next schooling session when i ask for canter? How do I keep the transition that sharp when I take the pole away again?

I also decided to ride her without a noseband because she had been yawwing a bit when i asked her for lateral work. That was a huge improvement as well and really suprised me. She only ever had a very loose fitting cavesson. The problem again is that I'll need to reintroduce one at some point so that she can do the odd dressage test. How do I keep her nice and soft when I put it back on?
