As I keep my horses at home and have no arena, schooling wise I often resort to the back field, which now resembles something of a bog due to all the rain!:o

So I was planning on trying to so more schooling whilst out hacking, but was wondering what sort things people would recommend?

Leg yielding on road. Transitions. Direct transitions. I do all my schooling on hacks and have one lesson in an arena per week. My mare is coming on leaps and bounds.

Leg yield, shoulder fore, shoulder in are good lateral work you can do out hacking, as is half pass and travers.
Transitions walk to trot, trot to walk, walk to halt, trot to halt, halt to walk and halt to trot.
Rein back is especially beneficial if you rein back up a hill as it uses all the muscles and is a good stretch.
Turns on fore hand and demi-pirouettes as well :)

I school a lot on hacks, we only have road hacking and can only walk and trot :)

I only hack due to there being nowhere else to ride- I do alot of leg yielding, and it has helped my mare to not swing her backend into traffic, as she now listens to my leg a lot more :)

I always make sure my geldings mind is occupied on hacks by doing all of the above. When he's warmed up I also practice things like sitting trot and getting canter strike off I want.
