Im thinking about getting somebody to school Bear for me for a while. Do you think its wrong to get someone else to do it? Theres a girl thats only 5 mins away and she produces horses etc that would do it for me. Its just that I dont like schooling much and I know if this girl does it for a while its going to be better for him as I find it so boring! I thought if she shows him the basics I would start having lessons with her ready for the showing season.

Hi,
No its not wrong to ask someone else to school your horse so long as you know that they are good at what they do and that you have obtained references from other people that have used this girl for schooling.

Not wrong at all. But perhaps you could do a bit of both - they could get him going for you, and you could take over????

I was in the wonderfully lucky position of having a good friend ride Amy May for me for a number of months as part of her rehibilitation from injury. Once the road work was done, he then started to work her in the school. She was taught things I could never have taught her - and I got the benefit. It was wonderful.
