Looking at the milligrams of active ingredients in the recommended daily amount (for a 500kg horse), Feedmark comes out top BUT just wondered what peoples experiences of both are ? Even better if you've performed a comparison ?

I know there is the question of science backed trials and the quality of each ingredients ... but supplements are a mine field and Dr David Marlin highlights this .. but as 'laymen' how would we know ?

I got the science supplements one because a) it's got a couple of extra ingredients in that I thought might help and b) my lad wouldn't eat the feedmark one.

It seems to work for my lad but I know a few people who feed the feedmark one with success so I think it's just a case of trying one and seeing how you get on.

I've been feeding Flexability pro since december and really happy with the results. I feed alongside their Wellhorse performance balancer which contains Glucosamine and MSM already so feeding the Flexability at a half dose to be a bit more economical and still seems to be effective.

My vet recommended the flexibility professional to start then try the plus but I found a big difference between them so have gone back to the flexibility professional. I noticed the biggest difference in his shoulders when I was pulling his leg after girthing he was much more flexible with the professional supplement.

This is something I have been pondering too.
Comparing the active ingredients - Glucosamine HCL, Chondroitin Sulphate, MSM and Hyaluronic Acid (HA), Feedmark does come out on top. Price wise they're about the same but, Feedmark usually have an offer running on their website so it will be a bit more economical.

I haven't tried either yet but will be doing soon and I'm tempted to try Feedmark BestFlex HA first.
Science Supplements is owned by Dr Marlin so obviously he promotes and recommends his own products over anyone else's. That said, SS are excellent products so I guess you can take your pick!

I just started on the Feedmark one as I can get them to make up a bespoke for my horse, and since I'm not in charge of making his feeds its easier if he can get everything he needs in one (joints, feet, coat). Haven't seen a noticable difference yet but its only been a few weeks.

Mine was on the science supplements one but he didn't really like the taste and the portion size is quite big. To be honest part of the reason I changed is that I was getting it from Viovet and the deliveries were taking longer and longer and the last one I got was damaged as it was inadequately wrapped. They refunded eventually but it was a PITA. Feedmark comes very securely packaged and quickly.

From my experience I dont think either of those supplements work. If you follow Dr David Marlin on Facebook (I do too as he posts some great info) it's really clear that he is something to do with the marketing side of science supplements, so I take everything he says about them with a pinch of salt.

I have tried both supplements, but what worked for me in the end was a conversation with Simon from Trinity Consultants and he made me a bespoke joint supplement and removed turmeric from the recipe as my lad has a sensitive stomach, which curry powder wont help. One year on my old boy is hooning around the field like a 9 year old again.
Sometimes the companies that dont have such good marketing put more care and effort in to the supplements they supply!

One of my horses has hock arthritis and I have tried various joint supplements but I find msm and boswellia really makes a difference over anything else, so I have just stuck with those for the time being.

I think that different supplements suit different horses e.g. I currently have a horse doing well on a Hack Up joint supplement (although I dislike Hack Up's cult like ways) but I tried another horse on it and it didn't seem to do very much.

I have had several horses do well on Feedmark's Extraflex with RH, so that may be worth a try and it is not quite as expensive as the Best Flex.

It really is trial and error though.

I feed Feedmark Best Flex. A few months ago I sat down and did my best to research the RDA of each commonly used joint supplement ingredient, and Feedmark was closest. I swapped from their Extraflex supplement to Bestflex and noticed a marked improvement so happy to keep feeding it.
Never tried the other one you've mentioned.

I have had my horse on Maxavita Pernamax for the last 3 months and noticed a huge difference in the span of 1-2 weeks of putting him on it - he went from flat out refusing to walk out to only balking here and there due to other various reasons. Unfortunately it seems that I can't get any as it looks like there are manufacturing problems and he's running out so have been looking at other options and the SS came up in my search. It looks like the SS Pro has everything that I've been looking for as I've been toying with putting him back on MSM as I've had great success with it in the past and also trying him on boswellia but at £80/month it looks a bit steep....
