Scintigraphy quick question

My horse is going up to Edinburgh for a scintigraphy bone scan. Does anyone know, will he have to be rugless during this procedure?

Whilst the actual procedure is going on then I think yes, but mine was rugged before and after in the stable. The actual procedure is done indoors so it shouldnt be a problem. I cannot remember if stuff is radioactive afterwards or not. I know their stable muck is dealt with seperately and you cannot visit for 24 hours (might have changed as it was a few years ago).

Thanks, he is going up on the Monday in just over two weeks, was too busy trying to find out if they wanted shoes on or not. They said to go up with shoes on for the lameness work ups then they take shoes off for the scintigraphy scan. Hopefully it will get to the bottom of his back / pelvis problems.
